Our Story
Jashona Mitchell is the visionary founder of L.O.G.O. Throughout her life, she
experienced many forms of loss, including the deaths of loved ones, the end of
friendships and a marriage, job losses, and at times, a loss of identity. More recently, the
deaths of her father, Walter; her son’s grandmother, Jackie; and her aunts, Mary Ann
and Judy, left her feeling overwhelmed by grief. Often seen as “the strong one,”
Jashona sometimes felt hopeless, angry, and misunderstood. As she grieved in silence,
she met others carrying their own pain quietly and began connecting with, encouraging,
and uplifting them.
After much prayer, she received the vision for L.O.G.O.—the League of Grief
Overcomers—and her compassion for people experiencing loss deepened. She
partnered with three organizations led by strong leaders to bring her vision of supporting
those who grieve in silence to life. Our story is rooted in the belief that grief changes us,
but it does not have to isolate us. Loss made us stronger. Community made us
unstoppable!
Our Vision

Our vision is to see a community transformed by faith, united in love, and strengthened
by purpose—where families are restored, leaders are raised, young people are
empowered, and every person is reminded of their God-given worth. We envision
neighborhoods filled with hope, compassion, opportunity, and peace, where service
becomes a way of life and lasting change begins in the hearts of people committed to
walking together in grace and purpose.
